Day 1 | Thessaloniki - Barcelona.
Meeting at Macedonia airport for our direct flight to Barcelona. Arrival, board our bus and depart for our hotel. Check-in.
Day 2 | Barcelona - Montjuïc Hill - Spanish Village - Paseo de Gracia - Sagrada Familia - Park Güell. “Visit to a treasure of religious importance with unique natural beauty ....” - Walking tour.
Breakfast at our hotel and depart peripherally of the city centre to start our second tour of the beautiful capital of Catalonia. We will visit the Olympic village, the Olympic port, Barceloneta and the old fishing village. We will continue to Montjuic Hill where we will learn about its rich history and then visit the famous Spanish Village, a miniature version of Spain, built for the 1929 World's Fair. We continue to the imposing Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's most important work and the most visited monument in Barcelona. We will tour the exterior and then depart for the famous Park Guell (tickets on your own), the work of Antonio Gaudi, an example of the harmony of nature and architecture, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then free time for lunch and shopping. We continue to Barcelona beach and Barceloneta . A vast beach , easily accessible with golden sand , major attractions , excellent restaurants , great bars and endless tapas. Then transfer to the historic centre for our guided tour. We will see the historic Gothic quarter , known as Barrio Gotico , with its beautiful stone streets and its trademark impressive Cathedral of St. Eulalia. We continue to Isidre Nonel Square and its impressive wall decorated with 4,000 ceramic tiles which have photos printed on them. All together the tiles create a larger picture that when viewed from a distance forms a unique mosaic kiss. “The world begins with every kiss” is the motto written on the plaque of the project and was created on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the liberation of the city. Continue along the Porta del Angel shopping street to reach the largest and most commercial square - Plaza Cataluna - and finally arrive at the notorious Las Ramblas pedestrian street, with its flower market, outdoor artists and painters and its endless vibrancy. For the evening, we suggest you watch flamenco in its homeland and indulge in its intense and passionate rhythm.
Day 3 | Barcelona - Girona - Figueres / Dali Museum. “Hyperrealism & walks by the sea....”
Breakfast at the hotel. Today's full day tour will start with Figueres, the city of Salvador Dali. At his museum (tickets included) we will see the world's largest collection of his works, from his youth to his death. Many of his works feature Gala, the woman and love of his life, and his grave is at the centre of the museum, in the place and city that honoured him like no other. On your way out of the museum, also enjoy the jewellery exhibition, consisting of 37 unique pieces of jewellery designed by the multi-talented painter. Continue on to Girona, a beautiful town on the banks of the Onar River with beautifully painted houses. We will admire the city's Cathedral and walk through the former Jewish quarter where the Sephardim - the Jews of Spain - lived. Return in the late afternoon to Barcelona.
Day 4 | Barcelona - Optional excursion to Tarragona.
Breakfast at our hotel and free time. For those who wish we suggest you join us on our excursion to Tarragona for a unique optional leisure excursion , a destination that combines history, culture and beautiful beaches. Known for its Roman monuments, such as the Amphitheatre and the Devil's Aqueduct, it offers a unique travel experience. In summer, the golden beaches of the Costa Dorada, such as Playa del Miracle and Playa de la Arrabassada, are ideal for relaxing and swimming so don't forget your swimsuit. With traditional Catalan gastronomy and lively local festivals, Tarragona is the perfect destination for those who want to combine exploration with the sea. We will then return to Barcelona.
Day 5 | Barcelona - Thessaloniki - Return flight.
Breakfast free time until the return flight.
