Day 1: ATHENS – PARIS – PANORAMIC CITY TOUR
Meet at the airport 2 hours before your flight and depart for the City of Light. Upon arrival at Paris airport and after collecting your luggage, our official Greek-speaking guide will be waiting for you. Transfer to the city to begin the panoramic tour of Paris' sights. We will start at the city's emblem, the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero, where we will stop for souvenir photos, then we will admire the Arc de Triomphe, the famous Champs-Élysées avenue, which is festively lit at night, the small and large palaces, the Place de la Concorde (Omonia Square), the impressive Opera House, the bustling Grands Boulevards, the Louvre Museum with its famous pyramids, the French Academy, the Courthouse, the new Pont Neuf bridge, and City Hall. Next up is the imposing Notre Dame (Our Lady of Paris), the city's imposing cathedral, the monument that inspired Victor Hugo to write his novel of the same name featuring the lovable Quasimodo. Then transfer to the hotel and check in. In the evening, go for a walk (optional) and enjoy the nightlife in the Parisian capital.
Day 2: PARIS – GUIDED TOUR OF THE LOUVRE MUSEUM – CERAMIC GARDENS
Breakfast at your hotel. Today we will enjoy a guided tour of the Louvre Museum, starting with the beautiful gardens located right in front of the museum (Tuileries Gardens), and walking among the trees and flowers, we will arrive at the entrance to the Louvre. There we will enjoy a guided tour of one of the largest museums in the world with more than 30,000 exhibits and more than 10 million tourists a year! We will be guided through the Greek and Roman wings and see, among other things, the three Queens of the Louvre, the Venus de Milo, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, and Da Vinci's enigmatic Mona Lisa. In addition, we will admire Renaissance paintings, neoclassical and romantic works. Then, together with your guide, you will enjoy a beautiful cruise on the Seine with Bateaux Parisiens. You will glide gently under legendary bridges and see historical corners that can only be seen by boat! You will circle the Île de la Cité and admire the imposing Notre Dame de Paris, a marvelous Gothic architectural monument also known from the novel of the same name featuring Quasimodo. During the cruise, an English-language tour is provided through the ship's loudspeakers.
Day 3: PARIS – WALK & GUIDED TOUR OF PICTURESQUE MONMARTRE
Breakfast at your hotel, and today we will spend the day exploring the unique, picturesque neighborhood of Montmartre. We will meet our guide for a walking tour of the city's bohemian neighborhood, built on top of a hill. It is one of the oldest areas of Paris, first mentioned in the mid-9th century. However, evidence places its history in ancient times. Montmartre was home to many artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and others, but it was also a place where other artists, including Toulouse-Lautrec, were active. The mix of its residents and regular visitors, including intellectuals, students, workers, artists, and women of loose morals, gave it a different character, a different way of life and thinking, much freer than the rest of the city, which this reason it was nicknamed “bohemian.” At its highest point stands the Sacre Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart), which houses the largest mosaic in the world, depicting Christ with a golden heart. We will wander through the picturesque alleys with beautiful houses full of flowers, visit the famous Square with the painters who paint portraits of visitors, and get a taste of artistic Paris. At the end of the tour, you will have plenty of time to continue your stroll with lunch, coffee, or relaxation. Return transportation is not included.
Day 4: PARIS – free day
Breakfast at your hotel. You are in the city center and can stroll around the shops or, if you prefer, climb the Palais de Chaillot for a unique photo of the Eiffel Tower. Nearby is the Musée d'Orsay, which began construction in 1898 as a central railway station. It houses exhibits of sculpture, painting, objets d'art, architecture, photography, and graphic arts. In the evening, take a stroll (optional) and enjoy the nightlife in the Parisian capital.
Day 5: PARIS – THESSALONIKI
Breakfast at the hotel. Pack your belongings (before 12 noon) and leave them in the hotel's luggage storage area. Don't forget to confirm your meeting time for the transfer to the airport. You will have free time depending on your flight time for shopping, taking photos, visiting museums, etc. Flight to Thessaloniki and end of your wonderful trip.
