DAY 1 THESSALONIKI - TYNIDA:
Meeting at Macedonia airport at 19.30, check-in and flight with Aegean Airlines to Tunis. Arrival in the capital of Tunisia, the eternal crossroads of cultures, meeting with the tour guide and boarding the bus. On the way to the hotel we will get the first necessary information about the city. Arrival, settling in the rooms and rest for the next day an exciting journey awaits us.
DAY 2 TYNIDA - CITY TOUR - BARDO MUSEUM ANCIENT BERBER VILLAGE OF TAKRUNA - SEASIDE RESORTS:
We start the day with a delicious breakfast and get ready for an exciting exploration of Tunis! This city, with its unique blend of tradition and modern life, invites us to discover its secrets. Our first stop is the imposing Bardot Museum, one of the most important museums in the Mediterranean, where we will travel back in time, admiring the rich collection of Roman mosaics, ancient sculptures and rare Hellenistic finds. We then leave the vibrant capital behind and head to the enchanting village of Takruna, one of the oldest Berber villages in Tunisia. Built on a hill, it offers a magnificent view of the desert and the Mediterranean. There, we will have the opportunity to meet the Berbers, learn about their traditional way of life and enjoy aromatic mint tea accompanied by freshly baked Berber bread. This experience will bring us into contact with one of the oldest cultures in North Africa. As we continue our journey, we arrive at the enchanting coastal regions of Sousse, Port El Cadawi and Monastir. In Monastir, we will visit the mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba, a monument of real beauty and historical importance, dedicated to the reformer of Tunisia. Then, we will arrive at our hotel, where we will settle in our rooms and have free time to relax, enjoying the hotel's amenities, as well as the free spa. In the evening, we will enjoy a delicious dinner and stay overnight.
DAY 3 SOUSSE - EL JEM - MATMATA - SAHARA DESERT - DOUZ:
After an invigorating breakfast, we set off for one of the most exhilarating days of our trip! Our first landmark is the legendary El Jem, where we will stand dumbfounded in front of the most well-preserved Colosseum of the Roman Empire, one of the four largest amphitheaters in the ancient world. We will tour its grounds and be transported back to the age of gladiators and beasts, especially when we find ourselves in the underground corridors and cells where they were kept before the gladiatorial battles. We continue our journey towards the heart of the Sahara Mountains, heading for the special Matmata. On our way, we pass through the town of Gabes, known for its important port and its oasis. Arriving in Matmata, we feel as if we have landed on another planet! The crater-filled landscape is reminiscent of a lunar surface, while the underground Berber dwellings reveal a unique way of life lost in the depths of time. Here, we will visit a typical troglodyte dwelling, where we will experience the hospitality of the locals and enjoy freshly baked bread and local tea. After a hearty traditional lunch, we depart for the "gateway to the desert", the town of Dush. There, an unforgettable experience awaits us: the Sahara sunset! For those who wish, there is the possibility of an unforgettable camel ride through the dunes, wearing the traditional kelebias. Back to the hotel, where we can relax by the pool or enjoy a rejuvenating massage at the spa. Dinner and overnight in one of the most enchanting settings of our trip.
DAY 4 DOUZ - SALT DESERT CHOTT EL JERID - TOZEUR:
Another exciting day dawns! We depart from Duz with the first rays of the sun, ready to cross the eerie landscape of the salt lake Chott El Jerid. The reflection of the sun on the salt deposits creates a visual wonder, while the mysterious "Desert Wheels" await us as souvenirs from this unique place. As we move on, the landscape becomes magical: golden dunes, primeval canyons and mirages of reflections that create a dreamy atmosphere. We continue towards Tozer, the archoness of the oases, which emerges from a dense forest of palm trees. The air is filled with the scent of dates and the singing of the wind among the palm trees. Our wanderings begin at the traditional market, where small vendors invite us to sample local delicacies, intricate jewellery and authentic Berber carpets. In the evening, a magical Bedouin experience awaits us! In a traditional setting under the starry desert sky, we will enjoy a meal full of authentic Saharan flavours, smells and aromas. Snake charmers, fire dancers and the enchanting music of the Bedouins will take us to a world of mystery and tradition. Those who dare can join in traditional dances and experience the magic of the night like the locals. An experience that will surely be deeply engraved in our memory! Overnight in Tozer.
DAY 5 TOZER 4X4 SAFARI - CEBICA - TAMERZA TUNG ZMELFT (AT THE HEAD OF THE CAMEL ) - STAR WARS:
After breakfast, an adrenaline-filled adventure awaits us! We board the 4x4 vehicles and set off for an exciting safari in the mountain oases, where nature and history meet in a magical way. Our first stop is the oasis of Cebika, a real gem on the edge of the desert. Natural water springs, lush palm trees and steep gorges create a breathtaking landscape. We then head to Tamerza, the most impressive of the mountain oases, where waterfalls flow through rocky gorges, forming small ponds that look like a scene out of a dream. Our safari continues towards Ung Zmelft, an eerie area known as "the camel's head", where dunes rise like giant sculptures of golden sand. Here we will experience the ultimate desert experience as our guides will treat us to an unforgettable "dune bashing" experience, ascending and descending the dunes in 4x4s. And for the highlight of the day: we visit the iconic Star Wars movie studios, where we will tour the sets of the famous space saga. Feel like you're on another planet as you walk among the abandoned sets, standing proudly in the desert. On our return to Tozer, we head to Nefta, one of Tunisia's most impressive oasis cities. Known as "the gateway to the desert", Nefta stands out for its unique formation, the result of geological subsidence that created a vast basin full of palm trees. The crystal clear waters that gush from its springs provide life to the vast expanse of oases. The atmosphere is enchanting as the narrow streets of the town lead to small squares filled with traditional clay houses and typical Saharan architecture. Return to Tozer, where we will have time for rest and relaxation. In the evening, dinner at the hotel and overnight, with the images from the day taking us back to our dreams!
DAY 6 TOZER - GAFSA - METLOWI - CAURAN:
The day begins with another unforgettable journey as we leave Tozer behind and head north. Our first stop is Gafsa, an oasis city that is a historical and archaeological treasure. We then pass through Metlaoui, known for its phosphate mines, which played an important role in the country's economy. The highlight of our day is the arrival at the holy city of Caeruan, the fourth most important religious centre of Islam. After lunch, we visit the Grand Mosque of Okba, one of the most important Islamic monuments in North Africa. Built in the 7th century, the mosque impresses with its majestic architecture, imposing colonnades and monumental courtyard, which bears the imprint of centuries of history. We continue towards the Aghlavite cisterns and one of the most famous carpet-making workshops. We taste the traditional pastries "makrout" and end the day with an overnight stay in this historic town.
DAY 7 OF THE WEEK - HAMAMMAMET - TYNIDA:
In the morning, we bid farewell to the holy city of Kairuan and begin our journey to the seaside oasis of Hammamet. Here, an experience full of colours, aromas and authentic Tunisian atmosphere awaits us. In the historic Medina of Hammamet, the narrow streets are bustling with life. The local markets are filled with colourful ceramics, aromatic spices and handmade jewellery that captivate the eye. The air is filled with the scent of jasmine and fresh mint, while traditional cafes invite you to stop for a refreshing break with a glass of sweet, fragrant tea. After our tour, we enjoy a meal in a traditional restaurant, where we will taste the authentic flavours of Tunisian cuisine. Afterwards we will have free time for activities in the area. We then continue to Tunis where we will spend the night.
DAY 8 TYNIDIA-ARCHIPELAGO CARCHIDONA - SIDHI BOO SAINT - GREECE:
Today is dedicated to unforgettable experiences. We start with a visit to the Greek Metropolis, where we will learn about the history of the Greek Parish. Then, we will have free time in the "Medina" of Tunis for our final shopping. Then, we move on to the area of Ancient Carthage, where we will tour the famous ancient Phoenician harbours and the Carthaginian altars. We will also visit the hill of Carthage - Byrsa, before transferring to Sindhi Buayd. Cindy Bou Said is one of the most charming villages in the Mediterranean, famous for its blue and white architecture, cobbled streets and atmosphere reminiscent of the Cyclades. We can visit the famous "Café des Nattes", one of the oldest cafés in the Mediterranean, where great personalities of art and letters have passed through. Here, we enjoy coffee or traditional pine cone tea while relaxing overlooking the blue sea. Photography, shopping and wandering the streets lined with galleries, balconies with ornate railings and flowering bougainvillea make Cindy Bouw Side the perfect last stop before returning home. In the evening, a farewell dinner and transfer to the airport for your flight back to Greece.
DAY 9 ARRIVAL IN GREECE:
Arrival in the early morning hours in Athens and Thessaloniki.
